Renewal Church Intimacy With God

In an effort to promote your intimacy with the Lord each week, we are attempting to find unique ways to keep the gospel before our core group.  Each week I am seeking to find new ways to expose you all to some thoughts on how to train your mind to love and think about the gospel.

This week, I would like to point out several great blog resources online that God has used to instruct, encourage, and inform my life.  Blog resources are a great way to read short, timely articles on topics that bear interest to our world and to the application of Biblical truth to our world.  Below are a list of blogs that I find most helpful.  A simple Google Reader or Outlook Reader set up in your email will allow the new blogs to download in your inbox each time you open you mail.  I attempt to take about 30 minutes each day to read through the thoughts of these writers and God has used them mightily in my life.  I pray that they might be useful to you as well.

Mohler is the president of Southern Baptist Seminary and is an avid writer, thinker, and theologian.  He writes culturally relevant Biblical critiques.

Justin Taylor / Between Two Worlds - http://thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/justintaylor/
Taylor is one of the best bloggers around posting at least 20 posts a day.  You will never keep up with all of his stuff, but it is worth you time to check it out.  From funny videos, to insightful writing, to poignant stories, Taylor is my favorite daily read.

Tim Challies - http://www.challies.com/
Challies is a blogger in the reformed stream.   His blogs are rich in theological depth and insight.

Desiring God is the blog of John Pipers church.  Poetic, Scriptural, and gospel saturated.

JD Greear - www.jdgreear.com
JD is a young pastor at the Summit in Durham, NC.  He is one of the sharpest thinkers in our time and will be a leader within the pastoral realm for years to come.  He gets better by the day and is fairly local.

First Importance - www.firstimportance.org
First Importance posts one gospel-centered quote from a author daily to allow you to meditate on the gospel.  This is a great way to end a quiet time every morning.

Take Your Vitamin Z - http://takeyourvitaminz.blogspot.com/
This is a random blog to links of tidbits of gospel content from around the web.  If it is current and impacts ones thinking about the gospel, this blog will link to it.

The Resurgence - http://www.theresurgence.com/
The Resurgence is the publishing company linked with Mark Driscoll's work in the Northwest.  It tends to be a bit promotional, but is a great source of content and links to incredible teaching.

That should be enough to keep you busy for a bit.  Don't try to tackle them all, but find a couple that really intrigue you and check them out.  Your mind and your heart for the gospel will be encouraged.

See you Sunday.  It is going to be a great week.
